For Prospective Ph.D. Students:

Dr. Hartley will be reviewing applications for new doctoral students in the upcoming admissions cycle (to begin in September 2024).

If you are interested in joining the lab as a Ph.D. student, you should apply to NYU's program in Cognition and Perception within the Department of Psychology. You can find more information about the application process here.

Research in the lab is highly interdisciplinary and benefits from NYU's rich and collaborative environment. Students in the lab take advantage of training opportunities provided by:
  • collaborations, discussions, and coursework with the department's core group of computational cognitive science labs
  • courses offered as part of the Developmental Science concentration and discussions with the trainee-led developmental journal club
  • seminars and lab meetings hosted by the Institute for the Study of Decision Making and the Max Planck Center for Language, Music, and Emotion
  • the expertise and facilities of the Center for Brain Imaging
